I bought some clip in hair extensions and now the hair is falling out of them – why?

They were expensive at £45, they are cuticle intact remy human hair, but the hair is falling out already, it’s coming away from the clips, and whilst it’s just a few strands at a time I’m worried I won’t have any left after a while! I daren’t comb them either as I’m worried about pulling it all out. I’ve emailed the seller and they said it’s not normal and I should let them know if it continues to happen but I don’t think I’ll be able to send them back as I have trimmed them. Has anyone had similar problems with remy hair, is it something that happens just because they’re new?
